Compassionate and affirming counseling for individuals and relationships
Prism Counseling provides support for both individuals and romantic relationships, serving clients from all walks of life. The practice specializes in working with the LGBTQIA+ community, offering a safe, affirming space to explore identity, navigate transitions, and strengthen connections.
Therapy at Prism Counseling is an active, authentic conversation, with goals that are client-led. Clients can expect a space filled with compassion and humor, as well as gentle reflection and challenge. Therapy focuses on freeing clients from old patterns created by experiences with family, significant relationships, past traumas, and the broader culture and systems in which we live.

Individual counseling focuses on exploring and understanding one’s true self, as well as addressing the internalized “stories” imposed by others. By gaining clarity around personal values, identity, and what is meaningful, clients are empowered to define happiness on their own terms and take concrete steps toward achieving it.
Individual counseling sessions are typically 50-60 minutes in length, scheduled on a weekly basis or at longer intervals. Sessions can be conducted in-person and via telehealth services.
Relationship Counseling is conducted through the lens of Emotionally-focused couples therapy (EFCT). EFCT is a type of short-term talk therapy that helps partners feel closer and more secure in their relationship. It’s based on the idea that strong emotional bonds are key to a healthy connection. It’s not just "fixing communication" techniques, rather it gets to the emotions underneath the fights and reshaping patterns that keep relationships stuck.
EFCT is a highly researched, evidence-based approach to couples counseling that emphasizes emotional connection and attachment. Experts consider it one of the most validated forms of couples therapy.
EFCT focuses on the negative interaction patterns between partners rather than individual fault. By identifying and reframing these patterns, couples uncover the deeper attachment needs and emotions driving conflict. Partners learn to see behaviors like withdrawal or anger as “protests of disconnection” and practice being emotionally available, responsive, and engaged—strengthening their bond and creating a secure, lasting connection.
Relationship counseling sessions are typically 50-60 minutes in length, scheduled on a weekly basis or at longer intervals. Sessions can be conducted in-person and via telehealth services.
My supervision approach is integrative and holistic in nature, and applies attachment, existential, feminist, narrative, and queer theories. I believe that growth as a clinician is a parallel process of both personal and professional development. As a supervisor I believe it is my job to help the clinicians I supervise develop their own therapeutic approach to counseling that is both firmly grounded in theory and research but also deeply personal and authentic. While tools and techniques are often discussed, I believe it is the clinician themselves who are the most powerful tool. I encourage clinicians to focus on their awareness and understanding of themselves as much as their awareness of the client(s). I am available for individual and group supervision for those professionals seeking independent licensure or supervisory credential.
I host a once monthly EFT Consultation Group for clinicians working with relationships. Attendees can consult with facilitator and other group members in a confidential environment. Psychoeducation around EFT is provided to help clinicians practically apply concepts in their work with relationships.
Date: First Tuesday of every month from 12-1pm.
Location: Hybrid online and in person
Cost: $40/session
